Welcome to the web site of the South West Surrey Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Our Branch exists to help and support not just those who live with the disease, but also their families, helpers, carers and friends. We hold monthly meetings and issue a monthly newsletter to our members and we aim to keep you up to date with the National and Branch news and items of interest. This site is another aid to maintaining the contact which is so important to our members. We hope you enjoy the site and will make regular visits. It will be updated as often as we feel is useful and we hope that it will fill fill any gaps there may have been in our friendly network of supporters and members. If you would like to visit the National Association website you can do so at www.mndassociation.org.or by simply clicking on the web address highlighted in blue.

Mini_Flea__Dunk_8--5--08_001We are a local Branch of the National Association which is a well known and highly respected charity. The Regional and Branch format of the Association allows it to maintain a very personal and close knit relationship with its members.

We must remember that it is not only those who live with the disease that might be affected by it. The family, friends and carers are also touched by it on a day to day basis and our aim is to support all those upon whose lives the disease has such an influence.

Mini_Flea__Dunk_8--5--08_002The South West Surrey Branch of the MND Association welcomes all who feel that they might benefit from membership. Membership is free and becoming a member does not mean that you are obliged to attend all of our monthly meetings, although you will, of course, be welcome to do so. You can be as active as you wish or, if you prefer, simply use the Branch to give you access to a pool of friendship, advice and support provided by others who know just how you feel. We can offer assistance in many matters and, if we can’t, then we probably know of somebody who can.

Our organisation and experience means that we can generally help or advise with many of the problems that those living with MND may experience. We are not a gloom and doom organisation, far from it, instead we love life and aim to live it to the full, helping our members to do the same through support, social events and, if it is all that is needed, a caring, listening ear. Whatever your needs we will be glad to help where we can.

If you are still unsure why not contact us and we can meet you, confidentially if you prefer, and explain face to face, the benefits of membership of our Branch and of the Association. We look forward to hearing from you and you are invited to contact us by any of the methods shown in the site Contents page. Please remember, this web site is for you the members and if you would like to see new items included, please get in touch and we will do our best to do so. We also have a letters page that allows you to air your views and opinions. Please feel free to contribute at any time. Just go to the letters page and follow the link there to send in your articles or letters for others to read.

You may also like to view some pictures of the Branch in action. Our photo gallery contains just some of the many pictures taken by John Haywood, our unofficial Branch David Bailey. Just click on the album button in the navigation bar in the left hand column.
